Rainbow News November

 Rainbow News    November 2011

Dear Parents,

Our nursery newsletter will keep you informed of all the activities happening in the Unit.

Here are some of the things your child will be involved in during the month of November.

The Theme of the month is Dark and Light.

The story of the month is Owl Babies.

The colour of the month is blue.

The shapes of the month are circles.

The rhyme of the month is Wee Willie Winkie.

At circle time we are focusing on the theme of Forgiveness as part of our Emotional Intelligence programme.

The house corner has a night time theme where the children are invited to get ready for bed complete with slippers and dressing gowns.

We are focusing on our next rule-

We use kind hands, kind feet and kind words.

Talk to your child about how to be a good friend and what to do if someone hurts you. Talk about how we use our hands to help and not to hurt others. Talk about why it is important to say sorry.

The shop has been transformed into a cafe and the children are encouraged to role play as a customer, waiter, waitress, chef and manager.

The first individual parent meetings took place on Monday 7th November and Wednesday 9th November. Many thanks for all your comments and feedback about your wonderful children.

The children were involved in their first FUNDRAISER on the 27th October. They all completed their TRIATHALON to raise funds for a new computer in the unit. We are overwhelmed by your generosity. you can view our activities in the GALLERY.

We set ourselves a target of 500 but have gone past that to a current total of 895! Many, many thanks for all your fantastic support. We intend to use the surplus funding for a trip out for the children in December with a magical Christmas theme to it!

The children will be visiting the St. Patrick's Centre in Downpatrick and travelling to Narnia through the wardrobe. The morning group wiil be going on monday 12th December .

The afternoon group will be going on Tuesday 13th December. More details coming soon.

One of Our Parents- Mr Robbie Mc Curry has also donated a second computer to the unit.He has a computer business called INKY DOO located near the school. We want to thank him for his support.

Dates for your diary.
