Crossing Patrol

We are sorry to learn that Mr Smyth, one of our Crossing Patrol staff is unwell and wish him a speedy recovery. Ms Lowery will continue to provide the crossing patrol and we would urge everyone to be extra vigilant as we approach the darker mornings and evenings.

Schools Council

Good luck to our council members, Edward McKay, Ella Mahon, Shea Quinn, Niall Flanagan, Jessica Hawkins, Patrycja Sokolek, Ethan Sloan, Eoin McMullan, Bobbi-Jo Forker, Rachel Adams, Laura Wiesiolek Aaron Lavery, and Caoimhe McKibben.

We wish to thank Mrs Monica Sloan for helping on Election Day.  She did a great job of checking each voter’s ID and counting the votes.

Thanks also to Miss McEvoy who is leading the development of the Schools Council and to all of the teachers for their work in providing Democracy Day etc.

Welcome Back

We welcome all of our pupils back after the Summer break, especially the boys and girls in Primary 1 who have joined St Patrick’s. We wish you all every success in this new school year.

Attendance and Punctuality

Most parents recognise the benefits of regular and punctual school attendance but there are those who do not. This year attendance will be monitored on a monthly basis and parents of children falling below the required levels will be contacted. Parents of children with irregular and poor attendance will be held accountable to the school and to the Education Authority – SE Region Education Welfare Service. Please help us to help your child by making sure your child is in school daily. Find out more about school attendance on:

June 2016

Congratulations to the P7 boys and girls who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on the 13th May. It was a pleasure to see the children approach their preparations with such maturity with their contribution on the day making the ceremony a wonderful celebration. We hope and pray that their faith will continue to develop in the coming years and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

First Communion

Our prayers are with the P4 boys and girls who make their First Communion on Saturday, 4th June at 10.00am in St Patrick’s Church, Ballynahinch. We ask God to be with them as they receive the body and blood of Jesus for the first time.

P7 Shared Education Project

The P7 children from St Patrick's visited Ballynahinch Credit Union to display the wonderful artwork they completed on Titanic. It was great to see the boys and girls getting in so well and enjoying their learning through the shared topic!

Preparations are now well underway for Confirmation which takes place on Friday, 13th May in St Patrick’s Church at 6.00pm.

School will close at 1.00pm to facilitate preparations for the ceremony.
