Caitriona Ruane opens new playground

c_ruaneLast Friday (8th October) we had a special visitor at the school, the Minister of Education, Caitriona Ruane.

The Minister spoke to the children at a special assembly before officially opening the new playground, car park and turning circle, and also planting a commemorative tree. A lovely bouquet of flowers was presented by one of the P7 pupils to the Education Minister to thank her for visiting our school.

It was great to see the other guests including our former Principal Leo Flanagan.

The kitchen staff provided a beautiful buffet.

It was great to see that our 'Red and Black' Day was a success and everyone enjoyed the occasion.  As well as having a great day 213.47 was raised to support the Lions Club Pakistan Flood Appeal.  Sincere thanks to everyone who made a contribution.

Fun Day 2010

psgcheque_300St Patrick's Parents Support Group held a Fun Day at the school on Saturday 25th September 2010. Among the attractions were Bouncy Castle, Inflatable slide, Tombola, Cake Stall, BBQ and a display by the Fire Brigade. The day was a great success, with a lot of much need funds raised for the school.

At the event the PSG were able to present the school with a cheque for 4000 which will be used for many projects at the school which would otherwise not be possible.

Pakistan Flood Appeal

The red and black day last Friday was a huge success and there was a great atmosphere about the school as everyone looked forward with anticipation to the big game.  Unfortunately, the result didn't go according to plan but we congratulate the team on their tremendous efforts throughout the year.

As well as having a great day we also managed to raise 213.47 which will be forwarded on to the Lions Club, Ballynahinch, in support of their Pakistan Flood Appeal.  The Lion's Club wish to assure everyone who made a donation that every penny will be used to buy water purification tablets and these will be flown directly to the most devastated areas of Pakistan to help provide clean drinking water.  Thank you to everyone who supported this very worthwhile cause.
